A listing is a name and thirteen named sections, and all fourteen are available in the application. Only what you type is counted — the labels, headings and layout are ours, and they are free.
The count is not an estimate of what the tokenizer would say; it is what the tokenizer says. There is exactly one in the system and it runs on our server. It is the same one that freezes a listing’s count at approval, so the running count in your application is the one that matters.
What you submit is information for our team, not the published listing itself. We prepare it and send it back; nothing is published until you have approved it.
How tokens are technically counted
The counting rule
Counted with cl100k_base, via js-tiktoken at the version pinned in package.json, over your company name and each section you write — every one counted on its own and the answers added up. A section you leave blank counts nothing. The section labels, the headings and the layout are ours and are free, and so are the website, the logo, the sector, the location and the dates. Run the same tokenizer over each of your own strings, add them up, and the number comes back.
Before counting
Text is normalised first: composed to NFC, runs of whitespace collapsed to a single space, and runs of one repeated character shortened. Invisible to anyone writing normally, and it is the normalised text that gets counted, stored and printed.
The bounds
A listing is at least 250 tokens, and a name is at most 60 characters. The count above buys the smallest size that holds it, and a started size is charged in full.
