cladence bio

What the company does

cladence bio is an ETH Zürich student-led biotechnology project building an automated platform for directed protein evolution.

Its system uses Phage-Assisted Continuous Evolution (PACE) to create and select protein variants continuously, aiming to reduce protein-engineering timelines from years to days.

Best for

Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics and industrial teams seeking faster development or optimization of proteins and enzymes.

What sets it apart

cladence bio combines molecular biology, purpose-built laboratory hardware and automation software in one continuous evolution platform designed and assembled by its team.

Entity type

Directed protein-evolution biotechnology project

Primary customers

Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics and industrial research teams.

Products and services

Automated directed-evolution platform; protein and enzyme engineering; experimental design; evolution monitoring; candidate generation and validation.

Technology

Phage-Assisted Continuous Evolution using engineered bacteriophages and bacteria; lagoon reactors; peristaltic pumps; optical-density sensors; automated fluid handling; feedback-control software; real-time experimental data logging.

Relevant use cases
