News · What AI Sees

Which website problems are actually worth fixing?

An audit gives you a list of warnings. Your developer gives you an estimate. Now you have to decide which changes justify the cost.

· Switzerland

The longest list is rarely the most useful one. A missing signal, an inaccessible service page, and an incomplete test can all look alarming on a dashboard, but they do not mean the same thing for your business.

Our recent reporting illustrates why that distinction matters. One audit recorded a missing sitemap as a small technical deduction. It also found requests using several AI crawler names being refused by the server, despite crawl permissions allowing access.

The sitemap finding supported a specific correction. The crawler responses required further investigation: our requests came from an audit connection, so they did not prove that the genuine crawlers were being refused.

Treating both as confirmed access failures would have given the company a misleading set of priorities.

The value of a report is in the decisions it supports, not the number of problems it lists.

For every recommended change, a business should be able to see what happened, which pages or systems were affected, how strong the evidence is, and what needs to be verified. A check that could not run should remain an unknown. It should not quietly become a fault attributed to your website.

Commercial importance matters too. A finding affecting the page that explains your main service deserves different consideration from an optional feature with no demonstrated effect on discovery.

This is why our reporting traces findings back to their evidence and separates scored issues, additional recommendations, and incomplete checks. It gives the person responsible for your website a concrete starting point and gives you a basis for assessing the work proposed.

You may need a technical fix. You may need confirmation from your hosting provider. You may be able to leave something alone. Knowing which is which helps protect your budget and directs attention toward the pages that matter to customers.
