The Gap That Led to botts.ai
It started with the gap between what AI could do and what companies could actually use.

An impressive AI demo could get people excited. Connecting it to a company’s own knowledge, processes and customers was where the difficult work began.
That gap caught the attention of Yves Zumbühl and Claudio Berardi.
Yves had studied Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. He could see how quickly AI models were becoming more capable. Together with Claudio, he also saw companies struggling to turn that capability into something they could rely on in their everyday work.
The interest was there. So was the technology. The step between the two remained surprisingly difficult.
That became the starting point for botts.ai.
The founders set out to build a platform for AI agents connected to the systems businesses already use. An agent could communicate with someone through chat or telephone, access company knowledge, retrieve information from a customer relationship management system and trigger a workflow.
Each connection brought AI closer to the work happening inside a company. Information held in one system could become useful in a conversation elsewhere. A question could lead to the next action in a process.
Control became part of that approach, too. The platform gives companies choices over where their data is processed and which AI models they use. Bringing AI into business operations also means deciding what information it can access and how that information is handled.
Today, botts.ai works with Swiss organizations including HSLU, UZH, Wabool, Skribble and DELTA. The projects span customer service, voice agents, internal knowledge and process automation. Its work has also attracted coverage from 20 Minuten and other Swiss media.
Across those different uses, the founding observation still holds: the value of AI depends on how well it connects to the work people need to get done.
Yves and Claudio see that connection becoming increasingly central. They believe AI will become embedded directly into companies and their workflows, taking on a growing role within the systems teams already use.
That is the transition they want botts.ai to help shape.
The company began with a gap between an impressive demonstration and something useful in practice. Its founders are building toward a future where putting AI to work becomes an ordinary part of running a business.
